A better quality of life - a psychotherapist's perspective

Psychotherapist Jean Gamble talks about the importance of assessing our lifestyle choices so we can empower ourselves to take greater responsibility for our own health and wellbeing. In this short article she reveals the ways in which Universal Medicine presentations support the development of this awareness with practical everyday tools.

I have been working for 15 years as a professional psychotherapist in private practice and I see first-hand how much people benefit when they are empowered to make decisions based on what’s true for them. When we are courageous enough to perceive and understand how we have avoided our feelings in order to adapt to our surroundings, we begin to make choices that are self nurturing and this leads to self confidence and wellbeing.  My clients are functioning members of society who are seeking greater satisfaction and meaning in their lives – as are the students of Universal Medicine, myself included.

Current research into neuroscience proves that past trauma and anxieties are held not only in the psyche but also in the actual tissues of the body and accessing and referencing the body can be a powerful aid to wellbeing.  The work of Universal Medicine is complementary to this process.  They are one of the few associations offering personal development that includes didactic learning and bodywork. Universal Medicine encourages people to connect with themselves and make their own choices. This has a profound effect on a wide continuum of symptoms from suicidal depression, PTSD, substance abuse, anxiety, obesity, exhaustion, relationship problems to mild dissatisfaction and meaninglessness in life.

It is common therapeutic practice to assess the clients’ lifestyle and the effect it can have on wellbeing. Universal Medicine encourages people to assess their own lifestyles and to notice the unique effect their choices might have on how well they feel.  People are empowered to take responsibility for their daily quality of life.

Through my professional training and psychotherapy practice I am qualified to recognise brain-washing and abuse and I can state categorically that Universal Medicine is involved in neither. The level of ethics, integrity and professionalism of the Universal Medicine team is exemplary.

Universal Medicine has helped me take greater responsibility for my quality of life and this has, in turn, had a very positive impact on my clients. I commend this work to anyone who is seeking greater self confidence and a better quality of life.

Sincerely Yours,
Jean Gamble
